HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 All-in-One Printer

Attention HP

So trying to setup Email Alerts on my Officejet 9020 and the SMTP provider uses API keys as passwords. I am able to get the credentials working with Scan to Email, however using the same credentials with Email Alert Settings fails.

Review the API Calls in the browser network debugger (Fetch/XHR) reveals that the webpage is truncating the password field to 50 Characters.

This is the endpoint being called:

Request Method:

PUT

Reviewing the Webpage HTML reveals the following proof of truncation on the password field:

<div id="smtpAuthPwField"><input id="smtpAuthPwField-Inp" type="password" class="gui-input-field text gui-password" maxlength="50"></div>    <input id="smtpAuthPwField-Inp" type="password" class="gui-input-field text gui-password" maxlength="50"> </div>

Specifically:  maxlength="50"

There is also Javascript in-place enforcing the maxLength and so modifying the HTML alone, is insufficient.

Can someone please fix this and issue a firmware release ASAP. Firmware version is MANHHIPP1N002.2211C.00.

Come on HP,  this is absolutely not difficult to fix. Basically, frontend dev decided to put in a 50 character limit because they did not know any better. Worst case scenario on hardware, would be a 256 character limit, which is what the dev should have used.

What's worse is that you guys fixed this for the scan to email feature but completely forgot to uplift this feature.
