My fax is connected to phone line via a phone switchboard requesting to dial a prefix of 9 to get an outside line.

When I set up the fax setting it up as single device (no phone nor answering machine connected to it) with dial prefix "9" "it returned the fax has passed the return test". However no fax get's send nor directly from the printer nor via the fax sending sofware on the PC. The fax sned log shows they are kept indefinitely for sending and the fax service log returns "Phone line unavailable".

I tried a number of combinations with or without the dial prefix setting, adding the prefix to the phone number etc .... without success.

Where's the catch ?

Included the fax test report:

Hi,

Please try setting the dial prefix by adding a pause symbol after the 9, the pause might be achieved by adding a # or a , symbol to the dial prefix (e.g. 9#).

May you see any difference by running a fax test then?

Even if the report fails, may you see any difference while trying to fax from the MFP now?

THanks for your suggestion.

We are now busy with some renovation works so I can't test it right now.

Will do it somewhere by the end of next week and return with the results (hopefully positive).
