Ever since I have had this printer I have had trouble printing out photos from the photo tray. I am using HP 6x4" photopaper but have to reload it several times before it eventually works.

The tray is slightly bigger than the paper  and sits in a sort of sliding tray. How can I assure that the paper feeds in everytime I go to print a photo?

@Bumblebasher

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that your HP Officejet 5740 printer does not pick up paper from photo tray. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

Make sure the photo tray is seated correctly.

Click here and follow the steps to reseat the photo tray correctly.

Check the condition of the paper.

Clean the paper pick rollers.

Reset the printer.

Make sure that the stack of paper contains no fewer than 5 sheets of photo paper in the photo tray.

Click here for more troubleshooting steps.

Let me know how it goes.

I hope it helps and if you feel I have answered your question and concerns,

Please mark this post as a solution accepted and Kudos would also be appreciated.

Cheers.
