HP officejet 5740
macOS 10.12 Sierra

Trying to print from my Macbook Air Sierra. I select ''print from photo tray'' in presets, but it still prints on A4 paper, and so wasting a lot of ink. Have tried several times, opening photo with different programs but same result. Brand new printer, Ink levels fine. Photo paper genuine HP paper.

@Supersozy

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the printer isn't printing photos as it should,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you load the paper in the photo tray while keeping the paper on the other tray as well?

Have you changed the default tray settings under printer preferences?

Here's a YouTube video you can watch to resolve your concern: Click here

If the issue persists, here's a link with step by step instructions on printing photos on HP Printers: Click here

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
