Hello jabuzzard,
I understand you are looking for how to install your printer without having the installation disk.
I will help you find the driver online if it is available. First, please see my previous post at: this link and please respond to me with the information I will need to find your driver for you.
Thank you!
I work on behalf of HP

Hello!
I, too, am trying to properly install the software for my HP Photosmart C4280 on my new device. I used to run an older version of Mac OS X on a different machine, and the the printer always worked fine.
I tried to move all of the software over to this new computer (running Mac OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite) by simply transferring the files, but learned that that probably isn't the way to go.
I no longer have my installation CD, and when I follow the links to troubleshoot that HP has provided so far, I am simply told to run a software update on my Mac, which yields little to no results.
Also, I am pretty sure there is a distinction between drivers and software - I believe that I will need both, and not just drivers!
Please help!
Thank you.

You download it from the HP set site and install it.

Hi, thanks for the response.
I did go to the web page for drivers using the link you provided me with, but again the issue is that I need the software package, and following the instructions on this web page only allows me to update my drivers using Mac's "Software Update"... I hope that makes sense! I still need help!
