I had only tried the hp instructions with no luck so I came to this forum...Your instructions seems to be the only one that has had success so I thought I would give it a whirl...  Beats buying a new printer.  This worked great!!! A thousand thank you's!!!!

Yes, that combination of 4 buttons (OK, Cancel, Black, Color) held down during the power cycle fixed my ink problem too!  Wow, thanks so much for telling us what HP won't - how to reset the dang software.
