I changed the ink, printed test pages, and it's still printing with lines missing or faded.  Not all of them and not a consistent distance apart but there's lines that are fine and then some that are faded or missing.  Is there a way to reset?  Do I need to clean something internal?

Hi! @SierraSF, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you print from your printer the line are faded or missing.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make changes to your printer apart from replacing the ink?

Have you tried making a copy from your printer does the issue persist?

Please provide the operating system you are running on your PC to assist you better.

Step one: Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
Follow these steps to print a test page.
Load plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper in the tray.
From the control panel home screen, touch the Right Arrow (), and then touch the Setup icon ().
Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report. A Print Quality Diagnostic Report prints.
Step two: Check the test page for defects
Review the diagnostic areas of the print quality report to check for defects. Defects on the report can help you identify the print quality issue and then troubleshoot it.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot print quality issues.

Let me know how it goes!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

@SierraSF, It's been great to hear from you again. I was waiting for your response.

As you mentioned when you try making a copy the issue is even worse.

Did you try the steps recommended in my previous thread to troubleshoot print quality issues?

If you have tried those steps and if the issue still persists, it could be an issue with the printhead, ink cartridge or the printer itself.

Have a great day ahead!

Yes went through all the steps, cleaned the cartridges, tried copying, tried scanning, it's definitely something in the printer. Going to buy yet another new ink cartridge 😞

@SierraSF, I'm glad to hear from you again. I was indeed waiting for your response.

I understand your concern you can try replacing the cartridge, If the issue still persists it is a print head issue.
