where can i find the "print utility" to run the cleaning from my computer?

HP Recommended

On my Mac, I clicked on the Harddrive icon, then the Applications folder, then inside that the Hewlett-Packard folder, then HP Utility.

Where do I find the print utility on a Dell?

I am having the same problem with my Photosmart 6510 printing no Black.  New Black cartridge.  I went trough your steps and the "alignment of the cartridges "Failed"  What do I do now?

Thanks, Kirk

I tried the cleaning the printheads and then the aligning--but that step "failed," the computer screen told me. Meanwhile, my ink is running low, so I guess I'll have to carry this 6510 to the Best Buy store 50 miles away and get another printer. None of my HP printers works for more than 6 months. This 6510 was bought on Sept 12, 2013. Paul

I don't know, Kirk.  I'm sorry.  Did you try to run the cleaning program again?

That is really disappointing, Paul.  When my 6510 quits again, I have no clue what type of printer to buy.

Thanks Tonni.  My brother in California (I'm in Missouri) called me yesterday. He has used an HP 5780 for several years with no problems. It has, I think, only one cartridge for the colors and 1 for the black--tho I may not be exactly correct about that.  And his won't print 4X6 in color portraits. I am about ready to just get a simple $99.00 laser printer and give up all the nice features of the 6510. Heck, most of what I print, now that I've retired from teaching, is just the contents of emails from my sibleings, friends, Amazon.com, and those kinds of things.  But I bet the stores only carry the absolute newest printer. And when I go to Best Buy soon to see about the problem with the 6510, and if it can't be fixed, they'll probably be recommending a new, higher number of the same printer we have now, but slightly changed. I'll let you know what comes of this, if I can get the chance (and remember my password, etc. that leets me post these messages!) Cheers from Paul.

This 6510 printer is about one year old.

The black ink is not printing either in photos or text.

I have replaced the cartridge twice, checked for firmware updates, cleaned the printheads, and updated the drivers, and followed these instructions twice.

All the cartridges are new.

It is attached via wireless to my Windows 7 system which is working fine,

Do not know what to do here but I need this printer to work and I cannot afford to keep buying new printers every year.

I changed the ink cartridges and now the black ink cartridge will not print.  I bought another cartidge and that will not print either.  Tried reinstalling the software still will not print.  When I try to align the print cartridges I get an error message and only blue prints.  Printer status says it is fine.  I tried the solution of touching the buttons that are not lit and finished with reinstalling the software but still no black.
