I can initiate a scan from my computer (W7) but if I try to initiate a scan from the device it shows the name of my computer in the list, but then tells me that "No Computer is Connected".

If I try to setup Scan to Computer I get a message saying "Scan to Computer is Currently Unavailable...Your printer has reached its limit of computer connections.  Scan to Computer will be unavailable unitl another computer disconnects."

It shows me a list of connected computers, many of which are offline or have been removed from our office.

How can I foce the device to drop connections?

Hi Baroooooo,

Updating the All-in-One
Follow these steps to enable automated Web Services updates, and to update the product firmware.
Important : The HP product must connect to a wireless network with an active Internet connection to receive updates. However, the product does not need to be connected to a computer.
  1. On the upper left side of the HP product control panel, touch the Web Services icon ( ). The product control panel displays the Web Services screen.
  2. Touch Settings . The product control panel displays the Settings menu.
  3. Touch Product Updates .
  4. Touch Check for Product Updates Now .
  5. Wait for any updates to download and run.

I am getting almost daily this error message the "scan to computer is unavailable." I have unplug the printer waited more than 2 minutes, I have turned off my laptop, I have unplugged the router and waited, and I have checked for updates and none of those items have help to get me back up and running. Hours later the printer will come back on but I cannot wait hours for the darn thing to come back on-line. What is the fix?

Hi ljfrunner,

How do you have the printer connected to your computer?

If you have it wirelessly connected to your network how far is it from the router?

Do you have a lot of walls or metal objects inbetween the printer and router?

What is the operating system on your computer?

HP designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and resolves many printing, scanning, and connectivity problems: The HP Print and Scan Doctor. HP recommends that you download and install the Print and Scan Doctor any time you need to troubleshoot a problem with your HP printer from the link below.

Hi ljfrunner,

Make sure that the printer is on the most current firmware available. Below is a document on how to run the updates from the printer control panel.

Do you have times when you lose internet connection with the router?

Open icon labeled HP Photosmart 7510 series on your desktop, and then click on Manage scan to computer. Click Enable to activate scan to computer.

Let me know if you are able to get it enabled properly?
