I have the same issue with my photosmart.  it keeps giving me the message of being offline.  the wireless radio says, "on," and the the signal is not being pickup by the printer.  I had to have a new driver installed just to be able to get the printer disk to be accepted.  The wireless signal is not being received.  What could I possibly do?

oh how I agree with you. I only had my printer for a short time also and have not use it hardly at all. Though I don't know if the radio or the wireless signal or what is the problem.

I am very sorry that your wireless printer is not working. But it does feel good to know that I am not the only one with this problem. I, like you, need some help.

Here is a solution for all those that suffer from defective modems.  I am a survivor and so can you be!

I've replaced 4 modems in my C309a since I bought it and now they are simply not affordable if you can find them.  I've never cared to look into how the boards are being stressed - I bought a few early on when they cost $5.  But one day I wake up and the C309a no longer has an IP address.  Sometimes toggling the modem off/on remedies it and sometimes a power cycle does.

The 1150-7931 board - simply forget looking for it!

The 1150-7930  board - you can still find them for around $20 but you must know someone or have experience and equipment for fine pitch desoldering and soldering, because you will need to remove the connector from it and install the one from the defective board.

BUT THERE IS A BETTER WAY - A LONG LASTING SOLUTION - SO LETS PUT THIS PROBLEM TO BED !!!

Simply spend the money you would have used for a replacement (temporary) modem board and buy a "300 Mbps Wireless-N Mini Router" that you can find all over ebay for as inexpensive as $20.  The one I've described is white with a black face, plugs into an electrical outlet, and has 2 LAN ports (well, one WAN/LAN and another LAN) and can be configured, among other ways, as a repeater or in client mode - both will work.  My system is in repeater mode and the wizard config took 30 seconds (assuming you broadcast your SSID, which I wasn't and took me forever to figure out my problem - duh!).  I plugged an ethernet cable from either port on the Mini Router to the C309a and it works great, it works great, it works great !!!  Did I say that it works great?

AND... I was able to hook up my old network color laser on the second port and both printers are discoverable in Windows 7, so PIECE OF CAKE.  Back in business - I hope you will be too!

I've been messing around with power cycles, partial resets, reset network defaults... Argh.  I'm ready to take a solemn vow never to buy HP again!

Then I saw paspatu's suggestion - TURN OFF BLUETOOTH - and badda bing badda bang I have wireless again.  THANKS!

Funny thing though... running the Wireless Setup Wizard turned BT back on.  My mind boggles at what kind of wacky state the firmware got into.

I had given up on fixing my printer and was not going to bother purchasing  anything to fix it as I had spent ages trying to remedy the wireless problem and was ready to bin it and buy something else. When the wireless did work it was at best flaky and was always having to be reset after the printer was powered down for a few days. By chance I had obtained a wireless PCB from another HP printer and was checking the forum to see it was a match when I came across the Bluetooth fix, What a piece of luck, THANKS FOR THE TIP.
