Hi there please help !

Every time I try to install the print driver that always show hp installer uninstaller has stopped working.

I have tried few solutions which I found on internet but none of them worked.

1. I have tried disable all the services and reboot the window to install.

2. Disabled anti virus software.

3. Upgraded all the .net framework.

4. Tried the newest dirver from HP website and CD as well

So far the universal printer driver is working but I can't scan which is annoying.

Thanks in advanced !

Thank you for joining HP Forums.}

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you are unable to scan or install the printer driver on your PC,

No worries as I'd love to help, however, I need a few more details to provide an accurate solution:

Does the printer work as a stand alone copier? without the computer?

Do you get any error messages or codes when the installed stops working?

While you reply, here are a few things you may try:

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then download the latest copy from the HP website: Click here to access and it should work.

Keep me posted,

Good Luck.

Yes the printer does work as a stand alone copier and scanner.

Sorry I forgot to mention that error message was that " a problem occurred while installing software to your system "

during installation.

Last year it was ok to install the driver and work well with Win 7 but this year I have upgraded to win 10.

I am just wondering do you guys do remote support like using teamviewer or logme etc?

Anyway I will follow your steps and see what happen. Thanks !

1. There is no HP printer in my list (Programs and features) as I said I couldn't install the driver properly.
2. I did followed your steps and that still showed " a problem occurred while installing software to your system "

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort and I understand the situation well.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • If the printer is connected to your PC through the USB cable, remove it.
  • Click on Start, in the search bar type in, cmd and press Enter.
  • In this window type in "msiexec /unregister" (no quotes) and press Enter.
  • Type in "msiexec /regserver" (no quotes) and press Enter.
  • Click on Start, in the search bar type in "msconfig" (no quotes) and press Enter.
  • Click on the Services tab.
  • Click on "Hide All by Microsoft".
  • Click on Disable All.
  • Click on the Start Up tab.
  • Click on Disable All.
  • Click OK and restart your PC.

Let me know how it goes.

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help,

Please click the "Accept as Solution" button and the "Thumbs Up".

Cheers.

I didn't connect the USB cable.  I always install driver by wirelessly. ( IP )

As I said it was ok when I was using Win7.

I have tried your new steps few times before. When I disabled all the services it showed another problem as below screenshot. 螢幕擷取畫面 (3).png

I have done few searches regarding to this issue. It might be the .Net framework?

If you guys can remote support that would be much better....Thanks !

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

You can uninstall the printer driver and add the printer with windows built in driver.

Go to control panel > Devices and Printers > Click on Add a printer.

and follow on screen instructions.

If this do not work,

I request you to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance on this.

They might have the option to do remote support.

Cheers.
