Since I upgraded to Yosemite, everytime I try to scan a document, a message appears saying "Please select area to scan". This never happened before.
I tried scanning through "Preview", "Image Capture" and "Printers and Scanners" and always got the same message.
Any hints?
Thank you.

Hi,
Either select a scan area by marking the required area within the scan preview, or uncheck the Custom Size checkbox and select the required scan size.
I would also suggest trying HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store, it may provide you an extra functionality.
It can be installed from the following link, it will be placed within the Applications folder:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hp-easy-scan/id967004861?mt=12
