An then I get two options:

Highlighted: HP Scan

and:               muvee auto Producer 6.1 (I don't know where this came from. This is not my PC.)

What I want to do is not have this pop-up, and instead have the scan automatically launch HP Scan.

Don't see how to do that.

HP6520, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, printer just installed and is the default (there are no others)

Hi,

This happen due to your OS configuration to launch the scanning software.

In order to disable this popup follow the steps below:

  1. Open Control Panel > Scanners and Cammeras.
  2. Double click the Photosmart 6520
  3. Enter the Events tab.
  4. Check the box next to Start this program and select HP Scan from the list.
  5. Save the changes and the popup should no longer be seen.

Many thanks. I never would have figured that out. Just ran a test and it worked perfectly.

@rjohn61389, what step are you having trouble with.

"under Actions unable to select anything. "No applications are registered for this event" The steps ShlomiL provided doesn't have a step to select actions. Can you give a little more information about the issue you're running into?
