I had a printing problem so I reinstalled the printer software. When I click Print In the Print Dialog Box the print job never gets to the print queue. My wife is able to print on the same printer from her laptop. Does anyone have a solution for this problem.

Hello,

Please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from www.hp.com/go/tools

Tried that. Didn't correct the problem. Uninstalled printer driver. Tried to reinstall. Installation failed. Considering setting fire the the HP 8610 and buying an Epson.

Printer and browser SSIDs match. Print jobs are still not getting to the print queue. Printer is selected as default, and online. Changed printer to USB and the problem stille exists.

Hello,

Kindly try the below steps that should resolve the issue..

If printer is connected using USB perform the below steps.
go to Control Panel > Devices and Printer > Add a Printer.
in the window displayed, select "Add a local printer with manual settings", and then click NEXT
under "Use an existing port" drop down box "USB001 (Virtual USB Port for USB)" and then click NEXT.
In the next window under "Manufacturer" select HP, and then from right pane, select "HP Photosmart PCL3 Class Driver2" and click NEXT.
And then follow the on screen instructions to complete the process.
Now open the document you want to print, under PRINT dropdown select the printer that was installed using the above steps. And now click the PRINT button to start to print

If printer is connected using Wireless perform the below steps.
goto Control Panel > Devices and Printer > Add a Printer.
in the window displayed, select "Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname" and then click NEXT
Select "Create a new port - "Standard TCP/IP port" and then click NEXT
Now type in the printer's IP address under "Hostname or IP address" box, then click on the NEXT button. "Detecting TCP/IP" would start.
After which click the NEXT button and then in the next window under "Manufacturer" select HP, and then from right pane, select "HP Photosmart PCL3 Class Driver2" and click NEXT.
And then follow the on screen instructions to complete the process.
Now open the document you want to print, under PRINT dropdown select the printer that was installed using the above steps. And now click the PRINT button to start to print

If issue still persists, you might try uninstalling the printer, restart the PC, Check for Windows Update and install them, Restart the PC  and then install the software using the http://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

What I found and the results I got do not match your instructions. Here is what I got:

Clicked Settings

Searched for Control Panel
  Selected View devices and printers
Selected Add a Printer
  Add a drvice dialog appeared
Clicked choose a device or printer to add to this PC
Got a  No devices found message
Clicked "The Printer that I want isn't listed"
      Add Printer dialog appears
Checked Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or host name radio button
      Clicked Next
      Accepted Device type: Autodetect
      Entered TCP/IP address
        Entered hostname
        Checked TCP/IP Device
        Clicked Next
      Unable to Install printer
Some driver files are missing or incorrect/
Reinstall the driver or try using the latest version

I don't remember having to do all of this when I installed ther printer last year. I have spent three days on what should have should been a really simple task. What is wrong here. I am really getting frustrated. What next?
