HP Photosmart D7460
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

<< it is a Photosmart printer, not Inkjet, but I could not find a perfect board >>

Does anyone know how to do a MASTER RESET on a HP Photosmart D7460?

Please do not send me links that enumerate the steps to follow for a different model. It would probably not have the same buttons.

I just spent $60+ in ink cartridges, but it does not solve the problem.

I already tried to unplug the printer while on, unplug the USB cable, then reconnect everything back again, to no avail.

HP does not support it anymore, and I was told to post here, on the Forum.

THANK YOU!!

Jabzi, thank you for your prompt answer.

I need to aplogize because I incorrectly titled this post as "Print System Failure" instead of the correct "Ink System Failure".

Following are the steps that cleared my error, and made my D7460 work again.

While the error is displayed on the screen, do:

1) Press & hold at the same time the buttons Print Photos and Red Eye Removal, then release both.

(the display should say "Enter special key combo")

2) Press & release in sequence the following buttons:

     - Red Eye Removal

     - Print Photo

     - Red Eye Removal

(the display should show now a key code (don't make note of it; you will not need it - mine was PRXXFN0723AR).

3) Tap (on display screen) the the Right-Arrow icon as many times as necessary to get the message

              "System Configuration Menu"

4) Press & release the OK button.

On the title banner you should see the letters "UIAUX", and the display message "Hardware failure status".

5) Press & release the OK button.

Now it should display the message "Hardware failure status cleared. Press Cancel to continue".

6) Press & release the Cancel button as many times as necessary to get one of these two messages:

"Welcome to Photosmart Express"   or  "Ink System Failure" (with the error code 00XX0000)

7) Turn printer OFF using the power button.

😎 Unplug the power cord from both, the back of the printer and the wall outlet.

9) Wait 30 seconds (really, wait that long)

10) Plug power cord into wall FIRST, then into back of printer.

11) Turn printer ON using power button.

NOTE: If the screen displays the message "Printer preparation occurring", DO NOT interrupt it.

You can tap on Tools (wrench) and Clean Cartridges, Align Printer, or anything else you want to do.

I hope this is the correct fix for all that have this error!

Please try the steps as as mentioned in below URL .

If issue still persists, its time to replace the printer.

If your printer is Out Of Warranty and you live in USA, you may be provided with Trade-in option.

Call HP Tech Support (USA - 1-800-474-6836 )
