I appear to have the opposit problem from most. All printing goes to Tray 2 but when I try to designate Tray 1 it continues to print from Tray 2. I've tried changing my default tray to 1, I've picked Tray 1 on Word but still it prints from Tray 2.

Greetings;

The issue appears to be Tray 1 will not feed media.

The issue is likely because the printer doesn't detect media is loaded.

If Tray 1 is not configured for Manual Feed, the tray will only print if media is loaded.

If Media is loaded, verify from the front panel of the device that the paper size and type matches the media you are specifying from Word.

If media is loaded and Tray 1 does not detect media, there may be an issue with the paper detection sensor.

Additionally I have found a video from our HP Printer Support youTube Channel which may help you determine the issue with your Tray 1 bypass.

*Please note although the model may be different than your own, many of our paper trays are designed similarly*
