I am trying to print on card stock using an HP Envy 4500. The characaters are starting at unexpected places (too high on the paper). When I print the same document on regular paper I'm fine. I realize I need to change the paper type in printer properties, but there is no option for card stock. Which should I choose? Tired of wasting expensive wedding invitations.
Photo paper?
Matte Brochure?
Glossy Brochure?
Iron on Transfer? (probably not)
Matte presentation
other glossy specialty paper
Thank you for your assistance!

Make sure that the cardstock does not exceed 200 g/m² (110-lb index maximum).
What size is the invitation?
Give the Matte Brochure a try.

I've tried Matte brochure and matte presentation, and I'm still having the same problem. There is nothing on the box to indicate the thickness of the paper. I bought them at Hobby Lobby, so it's not like I have something unusual or out of the mainstream. I have worked with invites and cardstock before, and it does not feel like these are unusally thick. It gets worse the more I print. This is so frustrating as these are only the shower invites and I have all the other wedding stationery still to print. I bought a new printer specifically for this task. So frustrating!

The best printer would be a top feed so that the cardstock does not have bend.
Take a look at the Epson Expression XP-420 or the HP Deskjet 2540.
