I have previously used the "scan to email" feature without a hitch. Tonight it tells me that the Username or Password is incorrect, and to check them. I finally found where there is a place for a Username and Password in the settings, but I haven't set them up before.. It's a family printer, so we all need access.

It scans fine to a Flash drive, to my computer, etc.

I tried rebooting the printer. Didn't help.

Ideas? I googled it and saw similar threads from several years ago.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that you are getting username or password incorrect error message while doing scanning to email. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

  • Update the login details from the EWS page under Scan > Scan to Email > Outgoing Profiles.
  • To access the EWS click the network icon on the printer screen to locate its IP address. Enter the IP address into your web browser.
  • Click here and check the solution provided for similar issue on forum.

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.
