I need help fixing my problem asap.The text has a stright line going across some lines.  I have the Hp Office Jet 4500 Ethernet

Thank you for your query to HP forum. I will try my best to help you.

 

I happened to see the same issue in the below post. And it was fixed by switching windows print settings from Normal to Best printing quality, you may want to give it a try:

"The text has a stright line going across some lines". Can you provide more details regarding the straight line you are seeing? Is it a horizontal black line or white line going across text? If possible, can you share the image that you see?

 

If horizontal white line is still seen, please follow the following steps to clean your printer's printhead:

  1. Load plain, white paper into the input tray.
  2. Press Setup.
  3. Select Tools, and then select Clean Cartridge.
    The printer prints one page.

If there are smearing across that page that looks like the image below, please follow step 10 to manually clean the area around the ink nozzles: http://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/c01968417
