Printer 6520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to be able to print on both sides when I want to.  The printer used to give an option to automatically print on both sides or on one sid. Now if I need to print on both sides of a sheet of paper I am only offered a manual feed.

The operating system is Windows 10.    Solutions please

Hi @GavB,

As I understand you are having issues with printing on both sides on your HP 6520 printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

The 'automatic discovery' feature used by some (Windows) drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is present):

  • For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
  • Select the Device settings tab.
  • Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.

You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.

Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi @GavB,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

As I understand you want to know the settings on how to find the device settings on your Windows 10.

Press the Windows Key + X - Click on Control panel - Hardware and Sound - Devices and printer - Right click on the Printer - From the drop down click on Printer Properties - On the top, the last tab would be Device Settings.

Please follow the steps suggested in the previous post and let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Regards,
