Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Problem regarding HP 4650n:

I tried printing 10 copies off of one file and the printer came back with a "job storage status page" error of "unable to store job at printer message.  The solution states to delete some files from the disk from the disk before resending job.  The printer was not my default printer at the time of printing.

I then looked at the display on the printer and it is stating Printer Error 59.90.  The solution is to turn off and on the computer.  I tried this solution but to no avail and I can no longer print anything.

This computer has been sitting in the corner of the office and has not been used for years.  I am trying to bring it back to life; is this possible?

Thank you.

You could probably make your printer work again and I assume that's what you meant when you said computer a couple of times.

Start by reseating the ETB, (electrostatic transfer belt), that is the thing you have to pull down to get to the toner cartridges, on the bottom sides of it there are little blue buttons to push and you can pull it out and put it back in.

Excuse me; I did mean to state printer instead of computer.

I did what you suggested.  I pulled out each of the cartridges and and pushed them back in.  The printer is still showing Error 59.90.

That error is an ETB Motor startup problem.

The ETB Motor is part of the ETB assembly, which is the thing you reseated.

So it is possible that replacing the ETB will resolve the issue.

I am curious, do the Toner shutter close when you pull the ETB down and then open as you close it? (the theory being that if there is drag on the wide black belt it might cause this problem)

Yes, the Toner shutters do close when I pull the ETB down and then open as I close it.  The magenta cartridge and the yellow cartridge do not close completely when I pull the ETB down.  These two cartridges do not seem to be seated as tightly as the black and cyon cartridges.

When you say to replace the ETB, do you mean the ETB Motor or Assembly?  I just recently replaced the magenta cartridge.

No, I mean replace the wide black belt assembly, the motor is part of that.
