Does anyone know how to fix a HP Laserjet printer with an error code of 57.04?    The printer suggested switching it off and on, but this does not resolve the issue.

Thanks

Hi @Auddie14 ,

I see that you are getting a 57.04 error code. I can help you, but I will need some more information to provide the proper steps to try and resolve this issue.

I believe this error code might have to do with a fan on the printer.

Do you have a Consumer or Commercial Product?

I support the Consumer Products on this forum.

Are you getting this error on the printer or from the computer?

When are you getting this error? (printing, scanning, copying)

In the mean time, try a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)

What operating system are you using?

Have a great day!
Thank You.

HI

Thanks for your reply.   This is a commercial product.  The message is on the printer itself.   We can't print at all becasue of the message.  I will try the hard reset shortly, fingers crossed it works.  The printer is a HP colour laserjet 4700 printer - can't get the product number.  The printer is connected via ethernet.  We are using Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  Thanks for your help with this.

I did the hard reset - didn't make any difference.

To get your issue more exposure, I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at Printers - LaserJet.

They will be able to provide more expertise on this Commercial unit. My expertise is on the Consumer Products.

Thank You.
