My DeskJet 6978 is 2 weeks old and I am getting the Printer Failure window on the screen - Ox6100004a -

I tried all the trouble shooting tasks I read on the HP Support pages. I have also tried to reset the printer. I have deleted the printer and re-installed it. Nothing is working. Please help me.

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!


Sorry, but we are not HP Tech Support; instead, this is just a community self-help forum staffed by vounteers. We have no way of diagnosing or repairing your printer from here.

All we can do is provide links to troubleshooting steps that HP has written, and links to HP drivers.

If those links don't diagnose or fix the problem, or those drivers don't work, since your Printer is so new, it is likely still under the original HP warranty.  You paid for free HP Tech Support as part of the warranty coverage, so you might as well make use of it.

While this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and repairing your machine remotely.
