I have been experiencing the constant problem of the printer status showing offline from the network . I've tried all of the published steps such as rebooting the modem, the printer, the computer, changing settings, downloading patches and reloading the software. Sometimes they work and sometimes I have to just reload the software. Very frustrating.
I have tried using wireless and ethernet connections to the network. Eventually the problem reoccurs. It could work for weeks and a time and then start failing every day.
I finally found a fix: connect with an ethernet cable, create a TC/PIP address port and disable the SNMP status. So far it is letting me print without having to reinstall the software. The problem is now that it shows two HO 8610 printers under my devices and while the pages are printing, I get an error message:
The HP Software is unable to locate your printer on the network. Please follow these steps to resolve this error condition:
1. Remove the printer.
2. Reinstall the software.
But obviously it is finding the printer because the job prints. It's just a hassle to have toremove this error message every time. I tried deleting one of the duplicate printer devices but that just removed everything and I had to reinstall the software.
Is there a way to get rid of this error message and duplicate device?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer and the printer status appeared offline. During troubleshooting, you connected the printer to a wired network and installed the drivers, and since then there are two HP 8610 printers listed. Due to this, there's an error message stating that the printer was not found on the network. You have to remove the error so that the printer starts to print. You have even tried removing one of the printers and the whole software got removed. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I'd like to know if you have run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software yet?
Also, have you tried to select one of the printers as the "default printer" from the computer and then tried to print?
Meanwhile, I suggest you to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software. This software will identify the root cause and lead us to fix the issue.
Please keep me posted on the results. All the best! 🙂

No, you misunderstood the problem. The only way I could get the printer to printer was to create a TC/PIP port and confirgure it by disabling SNMP status. The printer prints fine but I get an error message that it cannot find the printer even though it is printing anyway.
I'm trying to get rid of the error message and I'm also trying to get rid of the second printer under devices. I have run he Scan Doctor. It does no good.

Hello@Livco
I understand you are having issues while accessing web services and you're getting the printer offline messag .Try assigning a static IP address and a manual DNS address to fix this issue. Try the steps below:
* Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
* Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
* Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
* Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
* Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

I am not trying to set the printer up for wireless connection. It is working now on the ethernet connection. I tried the steps you siggested anyway but it would not allow me to select "suggest a manual ip address".
So now I may be understanding my issue. My printer is connected by cable to the network and that is working fine. The second HP8610 device that I see in my list is the printer also trying to connect wirelessly which is why I am getting this error message. So how do I remove the function on the printer where it is trying to connect wirelessly?

Ok - I guess I'm just not explaining this correctly. My printer function is working FINE if connected with an ethernet cable and a TC/PIP port configuration. I do not want the printer to printer wirelessly. How do I keep it connected with the ethernet cable and not have the system try to print wirelessly at the same time.
If the driver is reinstalled just to print by ethernet during a regular installation, it eventually loses connection to the network. The ONLY way I can get it to work is to create a TC/PIP port. When that is done, the system prints fine but creates a second device that tries to print wirelessly. Can this second device be removed without removing the ethernet TC/PIP connection?
Is the TC/PIP related to wireless printing?

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you do not want your printer to connect wirelessly as it is already connected by a network cable.
This issue could occur if the network settings are not correct.
Please follow the steps to restore the printer to its network defaults:
1. Disconnect the ethernet cable before following the steps and then reconnect it.
2. From the printer control panel, touch and slide your finger across the screen, touch Setup, and then touch Network Setup.
3. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored. 4. Touch OK.
5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.
6. Reconnect the ethernet cable.
Let me know if this works.
I hope you have a good day ahead.
