I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 8024e Printer, I have changed my Printer ink as it ran out with the original Hp ink but my printer has been stuck for hours on "validating please wait"  and i cannot find any way to fix this

@Nelo02

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/details/hp-officejet-pro-8020e-all-in-one-printer-series/model/...

Let me know if this helps.

Neither of these suggestions worked. My printer was already up-to-date, and the unplugging solution failed... of which I followed the directions perfectly, twice.

I've never had this problem with this printer, until I (first) installed a black ink cartridge that HP had sent me... to make up for a billing issue. And, then after this problem surfaced... I then also attempted to just install another genuine HP black ink cartridge that was purchased from Sams Club (where I've always purchased all of my genuine cartridges). Yet, the problem won't go away.

I'm very unhappy at this point... and would appreciate some help.

Hello
I think I have found the solution for this problem.
Open the lid for changing the ink.
Remowe the cartridges.
And mount them again.
Now you have a message on display, klick ok and it's possible to go to settings and uppdate "factory setting".
Install the printer as new.
It worked for me!
