Please help, this is driving me crazy!
My printer used to work with wifi and now it does not work. (??) I have uninstalled and reinstalled printer software and drivers a few times. I have tried the troubleshooter several times, and tried resetting the router but still no success. It does show wifi is on the printer but when I try to send a print job via wifi my computer shows it to not be connected to internet.
I have put in my password that I use when connecting other devices to wifi but it still won't work. I have also tried putting in the passphrase listed on the printer but still no sucess.
I see a passphrase listed on the wifi set up but don't really know what it means but still tried it to see if I could connect.
The user guide states to put in the passphrase, is this the one or is it supposed to be my password for wifi connecting? I tried both but still doesn't work.
I am at my wits end and need help. Please someone help me!

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I read that you have an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw printer and it does not work over the wifi network. You have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers and tried to reset the router and issue persists. It shows that the printer is on the wifi and when you send a print job it says that printer is not connected. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- Does the printer print fine from other devices that may be connected to the same wifi network?
- When was the last time the printer worked on the wifi network?
- Any changes that occured after which the printer stopped printer.
- Does the printer make a copy?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Perform a wireless network diagnostic test.
Also, please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor program. This program will detect and fix any printer drivers issues that may be causing an issue.
If issue persists then please refer to the steps as described in detail from this link: Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further help. All the best! 🙂

Thank you for your quick response. I did all the steps you asked me to do, I had already done them yesterday but went ahead and proceeded again. The printer states it is connected and the blue wifi light is steady on. The first two times I ran the network test nothing happened. I then turned it off again and unplugged it from the wall. Then I tried the scanner and it worked.
After that I tried to print from one of my emails and nothing, then I went online and tried to print an article, again nothing.
I went back to my computer viewed the networks available. The printer was listed on there so I tried to disconnect and reconnect. Then the printer started up and printed all the previous pages I had sent.
It always printed before and nothing changed, but just started happening recently. I have found that it will print the test page once then not again for a while. I have to shut it down and restart it then maybe it might work. It is very sporatic but less than more recently. Yesterday when I posted, I could not get it to print offline or online.
For now it is working but don't know for how long.
It is on the correct network so I just don't know why it is printing one or two times then not at all! Eariler today, I got an error msg. from Windowns 10 stating that "the printer was in error state" Couldn't print, and couldn't find out why it was in error state.
Very frustrating.
I do appreciate all your help but don't know where to go now, unless you have more suggestions.

You're most welcome. 🙂 You have done a commendable job in troubleshooting the issue this far.
Based on the details you provided, looks like the printer is losing the IP address in the network and therefore stops working in the network. If this happens again then I suggest you to assign a static IP address to the printer by following the below steps:
-
Print a new Network Configuration Page.
-
Type the printer's IP address into the URL of the web browser and hit enter.
-
NOTE: If the URL for the EWS is http://0.0.0.0, the printer is not connected to a wireless network. Reconnect your printer to the wireless network, and then print a new Network Configuration Page. Make sure the report shows the status as Connected. If the wireless connection drops, continue troubleshooting.
-
On your computer, open an Internet browser.
-
Type the URL address for the EWS in the browser address bar, and then press Enter.
-
NOTE: Make sure to type the IP address into the Internet browser's address box. If typed into a toolbar search box or search engine, the EWS does not open.
-
f a website security certificate displays in the Internet browser, click Continue.
-
The EWS webpage for the printer opens, which confirms that the printer is on the same network as the computer.
-
On the EWS webpage, click the Network tab.
-
In the Wireless section, click Wireless (802.11), and then click Manual IP.
-
If a Suggest a Manual IP Address option is available, click it, click Apply, and then reconnect your printer. If the wireless connection drops, continue to the next step.
-
If a Suggest a Manual IP Address option is not available, continue troubleshooting.
- On the Network Configuration Page, locate the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway.
- On the EWS webpage, type the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway numbers from the Network Configuration Page in the matching fields, and then click Apply. If the wireless connection drops, continue to the next step.
All the best and keep me posted for any help. Take care and I appreciate your cooperation in troubleshooting this issue. 🙂

Sorry but have been out of pocket most of the day...I think you are correct in what you said. I just tried to print and the printer is working both from articles on my computer and an online article. However, eariler today I could not print via wifi.
I will follow the steps that you have suggested and maybe we can get this thing resolved for good.
Again, you help is most appreciated!!!

@ jjackso
You're welcome. 🙂
If the printer acts like that again after performing the steps then the below steps might help:
- Click the “Ports” tab, and then click “Add Port”.
- Select “Standard TCP/IP Port”, and then click “New Port”.
- Type the printer’s IP address that you wrote down earlier, and then click “Next”.
- Select the new “Standard TCP/IP Port” from the list, and then click “OK”.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup. Now try printing.
Take care. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂
