Deskjet 2645
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Lenovo laptop running windows 10 and a Deskjet 2645 shared printer, connected to this computer via USB.

For a while it printed fine. A couple of months ago, I was unable to print from certain places (for instance Word) and lately I have been unable to print at all.

Sending something to the printer does not seem to be creating a print job.

I am still able to print a test page and to scan from the printer to the computer. Also, I am able to send print jobs from another computer to the printer as a shared printer, while it is connected to the computer from which I cannot print.

I reinstalled all the drivers and software and with no change.

@eopeace,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to print from your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645 All-in-One Printer.

This issue could occur if the print is offline or the drivers are not updated.

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Printer is Offline (Windows)

Also, check with a different USB cable.

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

@Rainbow23

Thank you for your assistance.

The printer appears to be online and I have tried switching the printer cable to a brand new one. This did not have any effect on my problem.

@eopeace,

Thank you for your reply, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that the issue still persists after following the steps provided in the previous interaction.

This issue has occurred because the printer is shared via USB.

Hence, I request you to uninstall and reinstall the drivers:

Step 1: Uninstall the Drivers:

Please follow the steps provided in the link to uninstall the printer software: Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)

Also, please follow the steps provided below to completely remove the printer software from printer properties.

Steps to remove printer driver files from Print Server Properties:

  1. Open the Print Server Properties dialog window by doing one of the following:
    • Click the Start menu and in the search field type 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click it in the search list.
    • Press WINDOWS-R on the keyboard to bring up the Run window, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then press Enter or click OK.
    • Press the WINDOWS key on the keyboard to display the Start screen, type in 'printui /s /t2' (without the quotes), and then click it in the search list.
    • From the Start menu or the Start screen:
    • Open Devices and Printers.
    • Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window.
    • Click on the Drivers tab.
  2. Select the printer driver you wish to uninstall.
  3. Click the Remove button.
  4. Select "Remove driver and driver package" and click OK.

Step 2: Download and install the Drivers from the linkFull Feature Software and Drivers

You may also check the general document in the link: Download and Install a Driver for a USB Connection

Let me know if this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Hi,

I have followed your instructions and removed all drivers and all hp printer software (including scanning and related software).

I reinstalled the printer with the drivers from your link.

Unfortunately, the problem persists - the printer is marked as ready, but no print job goes out.
