I think my printer is under warrentee but the website keeps telling me it expired. I cannot find a number to contact HP to find out if it is under warrenttee or not.
1. My printer makes a terrible noise when it prints. It started after there was a paper jam.
2. I need help setting up my fax line with using only only one telephone line.

Hello, @dvenus56 – Hope you are well 🙂
Welcome back to the HP Forums, I'd be happy to help you with your printer issue.
Going through your post, I understand that your Officejet printer is making loud noise after getting a paper jam. Do not worry, I am here to help 🙂
The noisy operation on your printer is mostly due to the erratic carriage movement on your printer. Remove the cartridges, and thoroughly clean the carriage path to resolve this issue. Use a wet lint-free cloth to clean the carriage path. See Clearing a Carriage Jam Error | HP ENVY 7640, Officejet 5740, 8040 Printer Series | HP to make sure the carriage is moving freely. Insert the cartridges once done and follow the steps below to perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now try making a copy on the printer and let me know if that works. Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.
If the sound issue is fixed completely, check http://hp.care/2fDmmXu to setup fax.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Cheers 🙂
