My printer is not discoverable to my new IBM Thinkpad laptop.  Any ideas why?

Are they on a SAME network ? Have you installed printer software and drivers on your computer yet ?

Not sure what you mean by network.  This is a wireless printer.  I don't think software installation is needed.

Hi,

 

Basically:

 

1. Printer is a Plug-and-Pray product, no software and drivers, no work. It may work with a limitted function.

2. Yes, for wireless printers, which ever way you need a network (adhoc or infrastructure). No network, no connection - full stop.

This same printer is discoverable to other computers in the house. For some reason the IBM ThinkPad is not. I don't understand your response. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
