Product: HP Photosmart Plus B209a

I have just reconnected my old HP Photosmart.  Everything seems to be connected properly and I have just placed in a new black ink cartridge.  The colour cartridges are empty but I only want to print in black anyway.  I send a print job from my PC and the paper feeds through as if its printing but comes out blank.  I have adjusted the print setting to Black Ink Only etc and tried other settings but with no luck.  How can I get it to print!!
