HP Deskjet 1000 J110 Series

I am trying to print material from my Mac OS X.  The printer is connected to the computer by a cord.  We have been printing on this for years and it just recently stopped printing.  If We connect the printer to a newer computer we have, it prints fine. The Mac OS X gives us a message that the printer is off-line.  We need to print material that is on this computer as it is used for college class instruction. How do we get the printer to recognize this computer again???

Hi! @Martha51, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you are getting printer offline message on your MAC.

Don't worry I'd love to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Please try the steps recommended below.

Reset the printing system

If all previous troubleshooting did not resolve the issue, try resetting the printing system.
CAUTION:
Resetting the print system deletes all devices in the print queue. This includes both HP and non-HP devices.

Right-click (or Ctrl + click) the blank space in the Printers list, and then click Reset printing system.
Click Reset in the confirmation window.
Enter the administrator username and password, and then click OK.
Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list.
Add your printer to the list again as was done previously.
Try printing again.
If the printer prints, you can stop troubleshooting.

Refer this article to further troubleshoot printer offline issues.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂
