Printer prints multiple copies when only 1 is requested & won' t release the printer when finished

Whenever i send a document to be printed the printer prints 3 copies.  The first copy prints right away but then it takes 10 - 15 minutes for the 2nd and then another 10 - 15 minitues for the third to print.

Since i only want 1 print I try to cancel the copies waiting to print but this also takes 10 - 15 minutes.

This happens regardless of the app I am printing from - Word, Excel, etc.

I have removed and reinstalled the printer multiple times, downloaded the most current drivers, etc. but nothing has helped.

I don't have this problem printing to another model HP printer.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Try the steps recommended below.

On the printer control panel go to copy option.

Copy: Opens the Copy menu where you can select a copy type or change the copy settings

From the printer control panel select the correct copy setting.

Touch the printer control panel display to select menu options and select copy

Custom
Fit to page
2 Pages/Sheet
Full page
Legal to letter
A4 to letter
Letter to A4

My HP Officejet J4680C printer has the symptopms discussed here but wants to make 4 copies of everything I send to it by default. It spools a long tmie beteween these. And if youi try to delete it (Cancel printing) it hangs up forever. B&W and Color copies are set to "1". It does this from 2 PC's over the wireless and one with a direct USB connection so I doiubt it's the PC's unless a WIn10 bug.  Thanks,  Bruce
