HP Photosmart 7510

HP Photosmart 7510 printer is approximately 3 years old.  Have ALWAYS used and purchased from HP the HP cartridges.

Most recently installed two new black cartridges along with a set of color cartridges and now printer is so light most of it cannot be read.  This printer is used mostly to print receipts and statements e.g. credit card, home purchases etc.  I have enrolled in eStatements for every supplier, financial etc.  Need this printer to work...  wondering if it is typical that these printers only last about three years?????

Is there some type of maintenance that needs to be performed on this printer?

Thanks for any help ..
