I have a problem that sounds similar with a Photosmart 5520 -- can I do a hard reset and start over? If so how.
Note: I have spent over 10 hours on 4 calls to the HP 'Tech Support', including so-called "Level II" support and no one can make this device work on a network that has worked for several years and has numerous other attached devices working fine. One of the techs had me do a "soft reset" but I don't recall the sequence of things to touch in what order -- plus, it still didn't solve the problem.

Hi,
Perform the Network Default by following the steps below.
Press and hold Cancel button and then press Wireless button.
Once the reset is complete ,turn off the printer and turn it back on.
Try the wireless function again and if it does not work, this could be an issue with the printer hardware.

I have a c309 Photosmart all in one too, and followed the instructions - unplug, press # and 6, then plug in again. Didn't work. wireless radio still not functioning. all this does is confirm for me that I will not be purchasing any HP products in the future and I'm dismayed that I own this one.

thank you very much for your reply, however, my printer does not have any place where it is possible for me to "touch" the wireless icon, nor does it have any settings for such a thing. But thank you again for your effort to help. I've accepted that the wireless radio is broken, and that this is a common problem with this printer. My husband and I each have spent way way way too many hours on this problem. Acceptance is less stressful.
