Hp office jet j4580

My HP office Jet j4580 printer is showing a paper jam.  But I have searched with a flashlite in the front and by removing the rear access panel and can not find any paper scraps.  If I have paper in the printer and turn it on it will feed a sheet about 2/3 the way thru.  I can pull it out from the front panel.

Any suggestions.  Someone suggested a factory restart, but I do not know how.

Thanks

George

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet J4580 printer. I understand that you are getting paper jam issue, and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

  • Clear the paper jam.
  • Make sure that the carriage moves freely.
  • Clean the rollers and the rear access door.
  • Reset the product.
