LaserJet Pro MFP M125 fw

I have been using the printer and scanner without any problems for several months now.  The unit is hooked up to my network wirelessly.  I have no problems with printing and copying; I can still perfrom these fucntions.  However, when I want to scan, the printer gets frozen in a 'CONNECTING" mode and never connects.  I tried unplugging the unit to see if that helps but it did not.

Any suggestions?

Hello @GratefulDad31, Greetings

Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.

I understand you are facing issues while scanning. To give you specific steps to fix this issue, I would like to know the operating system as well.

If you are using Windows operating system, let’s try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select “Fix scanning” option to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

If you are using the MAC OS X, I would suggest you try first the below steps:

  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click System Preferences.
  • Click Printers and Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click Reset printing system.
  • Click Reset in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click OK.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Click the Add button (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the Printer list, and then click Add to add your printer.
  • Click Print Using..., and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

Alternatively, check the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2dtmx63

I will watch for your reply. Good luck!

Cheers 🙂

I am having this same issue as of yesterday on my LasrJet Pro MFP M127fw. When I click apps it says connecting and never loads. I tried following the link for the print and scan doctor and nothing loads. I also tried calling HP and was told to try changing the wifi channel, that did nothing. Please help ASAP!

Thank you for your reply. Appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting the issue.

Please try the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2dVGYuP

Make sure you uninstall and reinstall the drivers as explained in step 4 and step 5.
