If I try to print on 8x4 inch HP everyday glossy photo paper the print gets clogged in the works. Nothing wrong with 6x4 photo paper or A4.
Any suggestions please?

I never heard of 8X4 inch photo paper -- and I don't need to have recognized it.
If your printer does not recognize the paper, it could be trouble.
You can create a custom form so the printer can handle this "odd size" paper.

Sorry, I had the correct 8x6 in the subject heading but slipped up by putting 8x4 in the message. 8x6 is recognised as a standard size but each time I try printing on it it sticks in the printer and has to be pulled out by hand. HP paper is as supplied direct. 6x4 is OK.
Thanks for interest.

I do not see the 8X6 / 6X8 inch size in the printer's Specifications > Paper Handling.
A5 is listed at 148 x 210 mm (5.83 x 8.27 in).
I agree that it is possible that the documentation is incorrect.
In that you say the paper is indeed recognized as a standard, usuable size and weight, you should not need to create a custom form.
- If the Media type (kind of paper) does not match, you may need to change the Media setting
- If the size is a "standard" size, simply choose this in (Advanced) > Paper Size
- Remember that the weight of the paper is important - do not use paper that exceeds the printer's Specification

You mentioned the following:
"HP paper is as supplied direct."
Can you elaborate?
Do you mean to say the paper size, weight, and printing surface is supposed to be usuable / appropriate for this printer model?
