Just tried this "solution" and it worked for my HP 5740.   I do not know why.

I have a reasonably new Officejet pro 6830 all in one priner that is a nightmare to try to print on photographic paper of any weight.

I am using a full A4 sheet and the printer is set accordingly.

The paper either slides straight through or does not do anything at all except tell me there is no paper in the printer.

What I did was put 1 single sheet of 80gsm copy paper in first, then the photo paper in after.  It then managed to print although takes ages.  I have just done that and printed off 2 full A4 sheets successfully but sometimes this trick will work and sometimes not, but it is worth a try.

I have never had these problems with my previous printers.

Hope it works for some of you, as I can't seem to be successful any other way which is a pain!

I am very surprised but this actually worked for me.  Good Job.
