Printer wouldn't scan or copy

HP Officejet 4620 wouldn't copy or scan, it can prints though. The error message on start up is "scanner failed. You will not be able to copy or scan". there is no scanner light on start up.

As the message states, the scanner has failed, likely not worth repairing as either the formatter or the scanner itself has failed
