I placed a sheet of paper in the paper feed tray and chose to copy it. The sheet fed into the printer but a message then appeared in the window;  "Printhead Problem. There is a problem with the printhead. Oxc19a0015"

I checked the print cartridges and printhead and everything appears to be OK. Ink levels are great. I even tried printing a doc from my iMac and it printed without a problem. So the printer is working except for this single sheet feed function.

I am confused about this 'Printhead Problem' message and the fact the single sheet feed tray will not work any longer.

Can someone tell me what other trouble shooting ideas there are to get my paper feed tray to perform and get rid of the Printhead Problem error message??

Thank you

magraz

p.s.

I should have tried this before I sent my message above.... I turned the printer off and on... all is well again... Sorry to bother you, but I am good again.

@Magraz

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand there was a Print head Problem error that you encountered and resolved after restarting the printer,

I'm glad it's taken care off and to ensure you have a permanent fix, if and when the issue reoccurs (God forbid).

Here's what you need to do:

Step 1: Use genuine HP ink cartridges

If your ink cartridges are not compatible with your printer, it might cause an error message.

HP recommends that you use genuine HP ink or toner supplies. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges. If you do not use genuine HP cartridges, the steps in this document might not resolve the issue. To check the authenticity of your cartridges, go to hp.com/go/anticounterfeit.

Step 2: Reset the printer

In some cases, a printer reset can clear the error message.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

     NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

  9. Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

Step 3: Remove the ink cartridges

Removing the ink cartridges and checking for an error message can help diagnose the printer issue. Take the ink cartridges out of the print carriage, and then check the printer control panel or computer for an error message.
