So, I'm trying to print an address on a small envelope. It's 4.5" x 5.5".  I load it from Tray 1 feeder but it keeps giving me error message "it's jammed".  I use Microsoft Words Envelope.  When that didn't work, I tried customizing paper size and it still gives me "it's jammed" error message.  So then I would open up the back tray to "reset" it even though it wasn't even jammed.  Does anyone have any pointers or tips?  I really want to use this envelope because it goes with the greeting card.  And, it looks nicer when addresses are printed on the envelope instead of on a sticker label. Help! Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your Photosmart 5520. I understand that you prints appear faint, and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

I made a research on this issue.

  • I found that the envelope size which you are using is not supported by your printer model.
  • Click here and check the supported envelops under paper-handling specifications in the document.

I also understand that you are getting paper jam issue.

  • Follow these steps to fix paper jam issue.
  • Look for jammed paper.
  • Reset the printer.

Let me know how it goes.

I hope it helps and if you feel I have answered your question and concerns,

Please mark this post as a solution accepted and Kudos would also be appreciated.

Cheers.
