I am tring to print photos on HP photo paper, 3x5. It appears everything is set up correctly and I hear printing but nothing prints onto the photo paper. I am using the photo tray and have a lexar card reader w/usb plugged into the printer. I selected the photo I want to print, hit print, hear what sound like something printing and when complete, the photo paper pops out with nothing printed. All of the ink cartridges are installed, including a photo cartridge.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
The following may help...
Make sure you have your Printing Preferences set:
Under Tab Paper / Quality >
Paper Source > Select Main or Photo Tray **
Paper Size > Select Index Card 3X5in.
Under Media > Select an appropriate Photo paper
** Note the the Photo Tray is particular about its paper -- it tends to like the 4X6 Photo Paper. You may have to remove the paper from the main tray, adjust the bar over against the little paper, and use that setup for your Index Card sized Photo paper.
Instructions for adjusting the paper in the main tray are found in the section for printing on 5X7 photo paper:
Print Photos – Three Methods: Photos Creations, Windows Photo Viewer, Word

Well, I don't know. It may not be picking up the input from the Card Reader. ? I have to admit, I have not printed from a Card Reader, connected by any means.
If you have a Mini / Micro to USB connector, assuming your camera supports it, you might be able to copy the photos directly to the PC from the camera and then print from there. I do understand that is not what you want to do.
I suspect I am missing something.
I am sorry I could not help.

Hi JR.
The memory card should appear to the computer as an external drive, so I'd suspect the printer or the software.
Can you print other things? If so, perhaps a different printing method would work for the photos. Here's a link to the 3.5x5 prints project in HP Photo Creations:
- Click here to choose the 3.5x5 prints project
- Click the Personalize and Print button to launch the desktop software. (If you don't have HP Photo Creations yet, you'll be prompted to download it.)
- Add your photos and print.
Hope this helps,
RocketLife
