I originally tried to reset the printer for photo paper and never got it to work right. Now every time I print something out it prints a shrunk image.  Every text from PDFs or documents to things on the internet are shrunk.  I changed everything on properties and I don't know if there is something on the printer I need to correct,

The Printing Preferences may be set to a previous job.

Short version

  1. Review / Adjust your Printing Preferences
  2. Check your Print Preview settings used when you submit the current job
  3. If needful, remove and then reinstall the Full Feature Software

Detailed Version

Printing Preferences

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click your Printer > Printing Preferences >

Adjust settings > After changes are complete > Click Apply > Next, Click OK to exit (close the GUI)

Help from your printer's How-to pages:

  • Custom Print Shortcut

Optional:    Create a custom shortcut for print settings you want to save and use again later

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your Printer > Printing Preferences

Tab Printing Shortcut > Select (highlight) the Shortcut you wish to use as a “Template” starter

Change the options as desired > Click Save / Save as > Type a name for your new Template >

Click Apply to save > Next: Click OK to exit

Reminders:

Remember > if the printer is having trouble knowing which tray to use, select the Tray (Source) in your Printing Preferences as opposed to leaving the Source to "Automatic" (exact wording varies).

Not all settings are compatible.

For example, you cannot select Media type photo paper with duplex.

Incompatible choices for the current combination are marked with tiny yellow triangle(s).

For example, A4 may be compatible with photo paper but not with Borderless (dependent on printer model).

  •  (Side Bar) Custom Page Sizes

IF your printer supports custom page sizes, then the forms setup will be available:

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Left-Click on your Printer one time to highlight >

 Left-Click Print Server properties

Reminder:

Not all programs provide support for Custom paper sizes - this might be the case even when the printer and printer software allow you to create Custom Paper Size forms.

For example, Adobe Reader DC can "see" Custom Paper size templates in the forms list -- Microsoft Publisher may not be able to do so.

Print Preview

When you are printing from your browser or from a program, the settings are controlled by the program you are using at the time you submit the job to the printer.

Browsers and programs (Adobe Reader DC, Word, etc) provide a Print Preview option that allows you to set, adjust, and view printing properties, including "Scale" (size), percentage of 100 %, "Fit to page", and other important options that help determine the size of the output (printed page).
