Hello! I seem to have some problems installing the driver for a HP Laserjet 4100 on my Network PC's running windows 10 and 7, both 64-bit. The printer is connected through the parallel port to a server running Windows Server 2003 and shared over the network. The PC's connected to the same network but running windows 7 and windows 10 see the shared printer but can't connect to it because of the driver. Whenever i try to connect to it it brings up an error regarding a missing driver, and asks for it. I downloaded the windows 7 and 10 64-bit driver but when i manually browse for the .inf file in the folder i installed the driver, it sais there is no driver. Is there an issue because the server has a 32-bit OS and the other PC's are running 64-bit OS?
Please help!
Good day!

You have to trick each computer. Load the printer as a local printer using port lpt1 and do not use autodetect. If the computer has the universal pcl5 driver use it. When the load is done you need to go into devices and printers and right click on the printer icon and scroll down to the first properties and left click. Now at the top click on ports and then add port and in the box that comes up you need to enter the server name and the share name of the printer using the following syntax: \\computername\sharename where you subsititute your actual names. Apply and save and you will be able to print from those computers.
