Hi,

First, you need to clean the sensor. Use a lint free cloth for this.

sheet sensor.png

Once clean, do the Sheet Sensor Calibration

To do the calibration go to Main Menu > Service Menu code 3174 > Service Calibrations > Calibrate sheet sensor

Best regards

Dear Mike,

Many thanks for your response.

I have done all the mantioned actions.

After cleaning the sensor entered  to Main Menu > Service Menu code 3174 > Service Calibrations > Calibrate sheet sensor

during the calibration i get the same error: "Diagnostic result " - FAIL.  Wrong  sheet sensor value. See bellow pic.

Aslo informing you that while i was changing the mode "SHEET" into "ROLL" my plotter still thinks that i have a sheet inside, maybe it  can be halpful.

Hope for your cooperation and feedback.

Best regards Hushnud.

Hi,

Make sure that during the calibration you block the sensor correctly. Otherwise the calibration will fail.

If the calibration still fail you might have to replace the sensor.

The reason why you have the same problem with roll is because the printer thinks that there is paper in the sheet tray.

In case that you could be facing a logical issue and not hardware. Update the firmware and/or tray a EERom reset.
Best regards

Hi Mike,

Could you please allow to me about this issue, I want to share something.

This type error recover through on two methods using and supported on

HP Designjet Z5400PS, T790, T795, T1300 and T2300 Printer series

1. Reset the EPROM and update the latest firmware (Difficult method)

2. Reset the memory flag (easy method)

Reset the memory flag (easy method):

Settings > service Menu > 3174 > Service Calibrations >

                      >> Drop Detector Calibration > Reset Calibration Flag > Ok >

                      >> Calibrate sheet sensor > Remove the all paper from paper path (roll and sheet paper) >Ok > Insert the paper in the sheet path (at this moment you need to insert the A4 size paper inside the sheet path sensor, where sheet paper inserted. But remember half of page need inserted on the sheet path) > Ok > Ok > Restart the printer and try to load the roll paper.

If the same problem persist, please try to the below steps, must be problem will solved.

Reset the EPROM and update the latest firmware (Difficult method):

      1. Need thumb drive - 2 GB ((minimum) with FAT format

      2. Latest Firmware (T790, T795, T1300 and T2300)

At first Inserted the thumb drive into your PC and send the firmware to your thumb drive. Remove the thumb drive from PC and shut down the printer, inserted the thumb drive into your printer front panel USD host. Turn on the printer and follow the instruction and after successfully update the firmware, please try to load the roll paper.

N.B: Firmware update time, printer will restart on 2 times and need take time.
