The operating system should be Windows XP or 7 but I am not complete sure

The problem thought has nothing to do with the operating system

We need the fax to always be on or be able to wake up after receiving a fax

The machine is currently connected on USB port - We do not need it on the network for know

The problem is that when you send a fax is ok

When you receive a fax is ok

       when you print is ok

if you set the mashine to the energy settings sleep/auto off after the machine responds normal

If you go and set the machine to Energy settings and the machine goes on stand by, it does not come on when the mashine receives a fax - you do have to press a button in order to switch on (specifically the button on the side)

What I need to do is either keep the machine on all the time or make it possible to wake up on events

The machine installation happened last monday so its just 3 days old

Thank you in advance

Hi @nicospa ,

I see that you are having issues with the printer not waking up from sleep mode to receive a fax. I would be happy to help you.

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

This information is provided from the manual on page 64. LASERJET PRO MFP.

Double check the settings again please.

Configure the Sleep/Auto Off After settings:

1. On the product control panel, press the Setup button.

2. Open the following menus:

  • System Setup
  • Energy Settings
  • Sleep/Auto Off After

3. Use the arrow keys to select the time for the Sleep/Auto Off delay, and then press the OK button.
NOTE: The default value is 15 Minutes.

4. The product automatically wakes when it receives jobs or when you press a button on the product
control panel. You can change which events cause the product to wake. Open the following menus:

  • System Setup
  • Energy Settings
  • Wake/Auto On Events

To turn off a wake event, select the event, and then select the No.

Go to setup, energy settings, wake/auto on events and select the fax.

This should bring the product out of sleep mode.

If the issue persists, update the printer's firmware.HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn Drivers. Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.

I will send you another step to try in a private message.
In the forum beside your handle name just click on the envelope to view it.

Does the printer wake up from sleep mode to print?

If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.

Have a nice day!
Thank You.

The firmware is being updated to the latest one version 20141113 but unfortunately the problem remain and the fax does not wake up on events

What I did was to set the sleep mode to the maximum that is 60 minutes. - What I want to do is to keep the fax on all the time in case it would not wake up

I do have the Answer mode to Automatic

Rings to answer one - I will increase that to three

Answer Ring time Single - I will set up this to all types of ring

I am sure if that will make the difference but I will try anyway

My customer has a VoIP and the fax line is connected to the modem line 2

He is not happy with the fax because he wants the problem solved

He told me "My previous fax was working, why this in not working"

Please note that he had a [Panasonic KX-FL511] but I change his fax with hp as he had a problem with his fax. Specifically the  Drum

Thank you

Same here, MFP M127fn with latest firmware (installed march 23, 2015). Printer does not wake up after sending print job via Lan cable. You will only be able to print job after pressing on/off button. I checked the energy "wake up setting"....they are all activated

Hi nicospa and PolNl,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, this Post has instructions.

Thank You.

HP Support NL contacted me and solved the problem:
Sollution:

- Install Firmware Update Versie20141113 for  HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127/M128 series
- To install de Firmware update I had to connect the HP MFP M127 via USB (as we normally use the printer via Lan cable
    only).
- After the firmware update the printer wakes up while in sleepmode when sending a printjob.
We tested by sending a printjob via LAN (IP Print / USB NOT connected) and via USB port as well
  Both tests were succesful

Thank you HP Support

Dear Sirs,

The problem I had with my printer was actually had to do with VoIP connection

The problem was not solved but the Service Department of Hewlett Packard in Cyprus took take of it

The fax was not able to wake up when it had a call

I did try Firmware update but no luck

I did try to connect to LAN instead of the USB connection but no luck

The fax could not wake up himself when it was receiving a call

The Scanner and Printer worked Fine

The Problem was only the Fax and it could not be solved

Thanks to the HP team they manage to do something about it.

I think there must be a problem with the firmware as previous HP  machines like the HP1536dnf worked fine on an analoque connection though. I think that HP have to find the solution to the problem and let me know to avoid having the same problem again.

I would like to thank the HP support Team in Cyprus for Helping me out

Thank you for your support again!!!!

Have the same problem...

HP MFP M127 with the latest Firmware Update installed (20150818) and latest Software and Drivers.

Tried to reset to factory default,

Assigned for printer the static IP address.

When the HP MFP M127 goes into sleep mode you can print via Lan only after pressing on/off power button.

But printing via USB even while in sleep mode does not cause problems.

We have the several MFP M127 in our company and almost all of them have this printing problem  via LAN when they go to sleep mode.

Please help. Thank You.
