Hi! @Hz1, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand that you have issues printing card stock on your printer.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any changes on your printer?
Kudos to you for trying out the steps before reaching out to us.
Note: If your printed documents are not aligned within the margins of the paper, make sure that you have
selected the correct language and region. On the printer display, select Settings, and then select
Preferences. Select your language, and then region from the options provided. The correct language and
country/region settings ensure that the printer will have the appropriate default paper size settings.
If the issue still persists, uninstall the printer software from your PC and reinstall the latest drivers.
1. Navigate to Start >Type Devices and Printers in the Search > Select it from the results
2. Highlight your printer object and Right Click
3. Choose Remove Device
4. Highlight something else from the list
5. Click the Print Server Properties button from the toolbar
6. Select the Drivers Tab
7. Highlight the appropriate print driver
8. Click Remove
9. Check the Remove Driver and Driver Package option when prompted
10. Click OK
Please update the printer software using this link.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Thanks for this.
Hp has replaced the printer and it is now installed.
Yes correct language and country thank you.
Much as I expected - the output is still the same.
I've already been on remote support and given them control of the lap top and settings.
Modifications made by them - the result is still the same. Everything has a border and offsets centralised images.
I have also been in touch with software people - unistalled software, obtained a new package again from them and reinstalled. Still the same.
I come back to the same issue - these files print perfectly to 2 different Canon printers.
The problem has to be with the HP Photo printer treating everything as a photo - even on a pdf file.
Even on everyday printing settings - it doesn't work.
Interestingly - the degree of unwanted border and offsetting varies with the paper or card.
I only buy quality super smooth card suitable for inkjet printers.
I am cross because when I bought the printer the advice came from an HP specialist rep and not one of Curry's sales assistant and I was very specific about what I would be using it for.
It isn't going to be any use to me as I am wasting quantities of card and my time. In spite of the fact that the original and replacement printer are under a year old (and my dialogue with HP has gone on since Day 1) nothing has made any difference and I face having to buy a new printer.
Two questions : Is there anything else I can try on the printer I have
and
Is there an HP printer that is not a photo printer and will print images without a border
Thanks
Hz

Hi! @Hz1, Thanks for your response and time.
Kudos to you for trying out the steps.
Please try the steps recommended below.
Right-click the photo that you want to print, and then click Print, or click Open with, click Windows Photo Viewer, and then click Print.
From the drop-down menus above the photo, select your printer, paper size, and print quality. For the Paper type select HP Photo Papers and then click Options.
Select your printer
Select HP Photo Paper
Click Options
In the Print Settings window, click Printer Properties....
NOTE:
Changing some settings makes them the default settings for all print jobs. You might need to manually change the some of the following settings if you change paper type or size, or if you are printing documents. Make sure to select the appropriate paper tray.
For borderless photos, click the Printing Shortcut tab, click Photo Printing-Borderless, and then click the Paper/Quality tab.
Click Photo Printing-Borderless
Click the Paper/Quality tab
On the Paper/Quality tab, select Photo Tray from the Paper Source drop-down menu, and then click Advanced.
Select Photo Tray
Click Advanced
In the Advanced Options window, select 10×15cm/4×6in. in the Paper Size drop-down menu, and then click OK.
Select 10×15cm/4×6in.
Click OK
In the Document Properties window, click OK.
In the Print Pictures window, click Print.
Refer this article to know more information about printing photos.
Let me know how it goes!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Thank you - but your remote support team have tried every printer property change through logmein.
And the whole point of this is that I am NOT printing photos.
All my prints are on A4 card.
I am printing greeting cards that are an A5 folded design on landscape layout
So:
On the graphics programme I select A5 folded template
And create my design.
The view is an A4 with the illustration on the right hand half and the left hand side is white.
When printed out on an A4 it is folded and so makes a greeting card.
When you look at the printer pre-view the illustration shows the colour printing to the edge but when you print it comes out with an irregular white border and offset.
Your colleagues on remote support have spent at leas 8 hours on different sessions on logmein but cannot fix it. I have even scanned the prints so that they can see the probem and they agree it won't do it. That is why they have replaced the printer as they thought it was faulty. The replacement does the same.
I keep telling everyone who has tried to help that the software programme I use prints perfectly on Canon printers, so I cannot see that the programme software is the problem. The Canon will even accept the file in its Craft Artist format and a pdf.
The problem must be that the HP printer can only think as a Photo printer and not as a multi use printer that it was sold as.
Which HP printer could I buy that would print a pdf image with colour to the edge and no border even if it is more expensive? I like the instant ink or I would change to any other make!
Thank you
Hz

I'm sorry to be such a pain - but I still don't understand this being a solution
The printer list you give includes what I am I am using
UK produced quality inkjet card measuring 210 x 297 mm (8.3 x 11.7 inches) so I am confused as to why this is contributing to the problem?
Thank you
