Hello
I am getting demented with my F2200 printer.
I have replaced the ink cartridges with 2 new ones, colur and black. It is not recognising the black one and the light keeps blinking.
I have tried turning it on and off to no avail :(.
The ink cartridges look in the proper position, I can't put hem in any better.
My start copy button at the bottom is also saying Error but I can't figure out what is wrong, there does not appear to be a paper jam etc.
Thank you for any help.
I have read my instruction book to no avail :(.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the blinking lights on your Deskjet F2200 printer.

Which lights exactly are blinking? Is the power light on, the black cartrdige light is blinking and there is an E in the copies counter? Are there any other blinking or lighted lights?

While waiting for a replacement cartridge you could print in ink-backup mode as described in page 71 of the user manual here. Remove the black cartridge, the printer will automatically use the color cartridge to print.
Use ink-backup mode
Use the ink-backup mode to operate the HP All-in-One with only one print cartridge. The ink-backup mode is initiated when a print cartridge is removed from the print cartridge carriage. During ink-backup mode, the product can only print jobs from the computer. You cannot initiate a print job from the control panel (such as copying or scanning an original).

Hello
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have followed your instructions but I am not able to print a test page. The paper is going through but nothing is printing on it.
I am awaiting a new black cartridge.
The Error message has disappeared now and the ink cartridge light is not blinking now at least 🙂

Did you remove the black cartridge and try printing with only the color cartridge? If both the black and color cartridges are not printing it may be because the printer was unplugged at some point with the cartridges not properly parked, allowing them to dry out.
In this case there is a workaround that may work: get two coffee cups and put 1" of hot (but not boiling) water in them. Remove the cartridges and put one in each cup with the nozzles down, in the same orientation they would be in the printer. Let this sit for ten minutes, then remove the cartridge and gently dry the electrical contacts with a lint free wipe. A clean coffee filter works well for this. Put the cartridges back in the printer and run a nozzle cleaning cycle, then print a test page.

Try removing the cartridges and blotting the printhead against a damp tissue. Do you get a strong blot of ink? Also try removing the black cartridge and printing with the color cartridge as I mentioned above.
