HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdn
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My recently bought HP LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdn combo shoud be able to scan at 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. Anyway, it offers just 300 x 300 ppi and results in this resolution even in max quality settings are poor. It looks like if some software smoothing was active, so as there was not a trace of usual structure of a printed image, clear to notice on the scan of the same magazine page, scanned with the aid of a different scanner. I used flat bed scanner, scanned a coloured high-quality printed magazine page.
There is not any other measure how to configure the scanning resolution, even in the setup accessible from the printer touch pad screen.

Hi,

Open the HP Scan under Start > All Programs > HP > Your printer model.

Change the source from "Document Feeder (If Loaded)" to "Flatbed Glass", then press the Scan resolution and it should offer higer resolutions...

The ADF itself is limited to 300dpi, which may explain why you're not provided with highr resolutions.
