6830 won't Copy or SCAN, but can print from emai or test pages. When try to copy the printer will just beep when hitting the black and white or color start button. If I try and "preview" copy it will just sit clocking on the display screen and the only way to move away from that screen to it unplug the printer and replug. The message I get is "No Printer found"

Hi @ngoato,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips, Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I understand that you are having some issues with copying and scanning from your Officejet 6830 e-All-In-One Printer. I'll be really glad to help you with this,
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
- Did any hardware changes take place on the printer (replacing the cartridges, paper jam, etc.?)
- What is the Operating System installed on the PC?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
1: While powered on, remove the power cord & connect after 30 seconds
2: Try plugging into a wall outlet directly without the surge protector.
3: Check if the scanner bar moves when you open the lid & press the copy button.
Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
Remove all the ink cartridges and then perform a Hard reset on the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to check for the latest firmware update, if available for your printer, using this website.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you.
